Tehran Times - Esteghlal football team from Iran have completed two signings in the January transfer window on Saturday.
The Blues signed an 18-month deal with Bissau-Guinean forward Esmael Goncalves.
The details of the contract have not been revealed.
The 27-year-old striker has joined Esteghlal from Uzbekistan’s Pakhtakor.
Goncalves started his playing career in Nice and has also played at Portuguese club Rio Ave, Cypriot Anorthosis Famagusta, Greek Veria and Scotland’s Heart of Midlothian.
Though born in the Guinea-Bissau, Goncalves is a naturalized citizen of Portugal. He has represented Portugal at under-17 level.

Omid Noorafkan also joined Esteghlal on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old defensive midfielder joined Belgian First Division A club Charleroi but returned to his former club on loan.
