Firouz Karimi Nekounam 

Tasnim – Ex-Esteghlal coach Firouz Karimi was named as new head coach of Nassaji Mazandaran on Saturday.

The 62-year-old coach replaced Javad Nekounam who stepped down last week.

Karimi was without a team after parting company with Machine Sazi in August 2018.

He started his coaching career in 1989 in Pas Tehran and has also coached Sepahan, Bahman, Paykan, Rah Ahan, Sanat Naft, Aboomoslem, Saba, Zob Ahan, Damash, Gostaresh, Esteghlal Ahvaz, Esteghlal and Malavan.

Nassaji sits 10th in Iran Professional League table, 15 points behind leader Sepahan.

The Ghaemshahr-based football team will face Zob Ahan in Isfahan on February 3 in the Iran Professional League (IPL).
