Tasnim – Esteghlal football team coach Winfried Schaefer says he is very excited to be drawn in ‘Group of Death’ of the AFC Champions League.
Esteghlal will face Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal, the 2017 runner-up and two-time winner, Al Duhail SC of Qatar and the UAE's Al Ain in Group C.
“We are very excited to be drawn in the toughest group but Esteghlal used to be successful in these situations," Shaefer said.
"Our group is similar to the last season but we qualified for the knockout stage as the winner,” Schaefer said.
“We have to be concentrated if we want to advance to the next stage. We can strengthen our team in the January window. We have always conquered every obstacle in our path and this time we can do it,” the German coach added.
