Tehran Times - Iran national football team head coach Carlos Queiroz said they will be different in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup through different preparation.
Team Melli have been scheduled to face Bolivia in a friendly match on Tuesday as part of preparation for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.
Iran have not won the title since 1976.
Iran have been drawn in Group D along with Yemen, Iraq and Vietnam.
“We are waiting for medicine to have a good performance at the 2019 AFC Asian Cup but the big question is whether we receive our medicine ahead of the competition or after that. Our strategy in the UAE is: Team should be ready and have motivation. We need good preparation to win the title after 42 years,” Queiroz said in the news conference ahead of the friendly match against Bolivia.
“Bolivia match can be a good warm-up for us but we should also be united to get good results in the Asian Cup. I hope the fans come to the stadium to support us against strong Bolivia,” he added.
“I have to say we are in good condition, not excellent. We still need some medicine,” the Portuguese stated.
Asked him is there any chance for Jalal Hosseini to be invited to Team Melli, Queiroz said, “He is always in my heart but we needed some changes.”
