PLDC – Rubin Kazan striker Sardar Azmoun started the new season of Russian Premier League on a high note.
Rubin Kazan defeated Krasnodar 2-1 in Kazan Arena on Sunday.
Azmoun was on target twice in the 9th and 38th minutes while Fyodor Smolov scored Krasnodar’s only goal in the 31st minute.
Azmoun scored just six goals in 26 matches last season but he has started well the new season.
The 24-year-old attacker failed to score a goal in the 2018 World Cup in three matches against Morocco, Spain and Portugal.
Azmoun announced his retirement after the end of the World Cup.
