PLDC – Esteghlal has decided not to participate at the Iran’s Super Cup.
The match has been scheduled for July 20 but it seems the Blues are not going to play Persepolis.
Esteghlal is currently holding a camp in Turkey and will reportedly withdraw from the match with its arch-rival Persepolis.
Persepolis, as champion of Iran Professional League, will have to face Iran Hazfi Cup’s title-holder Esteghlal in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium on July 20.
Esteghlal has announced it will return to Iran on July 22 and it means the team will withdraw from the match.
The Iran Super Cup is regarded as the curtain raiser for a new league campaign since the competition's creation in 2005.
