PLDC – Tractor Sazi sporting director Reza Mohajeri has hit back at press speculation linking ex-Bayern Munich coach Ottmar Hitzfeld to the Iranian club.
Tractor Sazi is without a coach after parting company with Turkish gaffer Ertugrul Saglam.
The Tabriz based football club has negotiated with some well-known European coaches, Mohajeri said.
“Hitzfeld is a great name but there is no reason we negotiate with a coach who has retired from coaching. Within the next few days, we will announce the name of Tracor Sazi new head coach,” he added.
Hitzfeld ,69, announced his retirement from coaching after the 2014 World Cup as Switzerland head coach.
It was said that Chinese Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande once offered Hitzfeld an 18–month-long contract, with a value of 24 million euro. However, he turned it down.
Tractor Sazi finished in 10th place last season in Iran Professional League.
