PLDC – A friendly match between Iran and European minnow Kosovo has been called off.
The warm-up match had been scheduled to take place in Istanbul but it is cancelled after the Iranian federation decided to play behind closed doors.
The Iranians were hoping to face Kosovo on Saturday, in a game which had been quickly organized after a scheduled friendly against Greece was canceled.
Iran lost to Turkey 2-1 on Monday as part of preparation for the 2018 World Cup.
Team Melli has been drawn in Group B along with Morocco, Spain and Portugal.
Carlos Queiroz’s team will kick off the campaign with a match against Morocco on June 15.
