PLDC – Esteghlal midfielder Dariush Shojaeian has been ruled out of the 2018 World Cup.
He suffered a knee injury in the match against Zob Ahan in the first leg of the AFC Champions League Round of 16 on Tuesday.
He was diagnosed with a torn ACL in his knee and will be sidelined for six months.
Esteghlal midfielder will have to undergo surgery within the next few days.
Previously, Persepolis defensive midfielder Mohsen Rabikhah suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee.
