PLDC – Samad Marfavi has been named as new head coach of Iranian top-flight football team Esteghlal Khuzestan on Saturday.
Marfavi replaced Abdollah Veisi in the Ahvaz-based football team.
Under guidance of Veisi, Esteghlal Khuzestan avoided relegation from Iran Professional League.
Marfavi started coaching career in 2002 when he was named as Esteghlal Ahvaz’s assistant.
The 53-year-old coach took charge of Esteghlal in 2006 replacing Amir Ghalenoei.
Marfavi has also coached Mes Kerman, Paykan, and Saba.
