Tasnim - Iran’s Esteghlal has lodged a complaint with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) against Malaysian referee Mohd Amirul Izwan bin Yaacob.
The referee awarded two penalties to the Emirati team and TV replays show that his decisions are not right.
Esteghlal was held to a 2-2 draw by Al Ain in Group D of the 2018 AFC Champions League in Dubai Tuesday night.
The Iranian giant will host Al Ain on March 12 in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.
Esteghlal remains top of the group with five points, followed by Al Rayyan (three points), Al Ain (three points) and Al Hilal (two points).
