Tasnim - Esteghlal striker Mehdi Ghaedi has been hospitalized in Bushehr, south of Iran, after being involved in a car crash Sunday night.
The 19-year-old prodigy is currently at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Bushehr’s Persian Gulf Hospital.
Ghaedi’s spleen has been removed in a surgery. He has also suffered rib cage injuries in the incident.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mehdi,” Esteghlal German coach Winfried Schaefer said.
Ghaedi, who joined Iranian giant Esteghlal in June, was one of members of Iran Under-20 team in the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
