Tehran Times - Iran national beach soccer team started the 2018 Persian Beach Soccer Cup on a high note.
Team Melli defeated Azerbaijan 3-2 in in Bushehr, southern Iran. Mostafa Kiani (two goals) and Mohammad Moradi scored for the Iranian team.
The competition is being held from January 27 to 29.
Earlier in the day, Spain defeated Ukraine 6-2.
On Sunday, much-changed Iran will face Ukraine and Spain play Azerbaijan.
Marco Octavio’s team take part in the tournament with a mix of experienced and young players.
Iran won the title in the first edition which was held with the participation of Poland, Ukraine and Italy.
