Tasnim - The Iranian national futsal team was held to a 3-3 draw by the Azerbaijan Republic in Day 1 of the Isfahan International Futsal Tournament on Sunday.
Aliasghar Hassanzadeh, the best Asian futsal player, Hossein Tayyebi and Mohammad Shajari scored for the Iranian team.
Earlier on the day, Russia drew 3-3 with Kazakhstan.
Iran will face Kazakhstan on Monday, while Azerbaijan meet Russia.
The event seeks to prepare Iran futsal team for upcoming events such as AFC Futsal Championship and World Cup games.
Iran sits in fifth place after Brazil, Spain, Russia and Argentina in the latest ranking.
