PA Sport - AZ Alkmaar climbed to second in the Eredivisie table after seeing off stubborn FC Twente 2-0.
Early on Wout Weghorst danced into the Twente box after collecting Jonas Svensson's through ball but Jorn Brondeel made a smart low save.
Teun Koopmeiners tested Brondeel with a hard shot as half-time drew nearer, but Twente resisted.
AZ kept plugging away after the break yet they would need a penalty award to make the breakthrough. Iran international Alireza Jahanbakhsh converted the spot-kick on 65 minutes.
Scorer then turned provider as Joris van Overeem killed off the contest with a finish from Jahanbakhsh's cross.
