Tehran Times - Former Gostaresh Foolad coach Faraz Kamalvand has been named as new head coach of Sanat Naft Abadan on Saturday.

Kamalvand has signed a two-year contract with the Iranian Professional League team for an undisclosed fee.

He replaced Firooz Karimi in Abadan-based club, who finished 12th in Iran Professional League.

Kamalvand parted ways with Gostaresh Foolad at the end of the season after he failed to meet the Tabriz-based team’s expectations.

Gostaresh Foolad came eighth in the tale.

Kamalvand started his coaching career in Pas B in 1996 and has coached Esteghlal Ahvaz, Payam Mashhad, Shirin Faraz, Tractor Sazi, Pas Hamedan and Shahrdari Tabriz so far.

Last week, Luka Bonacic replaced Faraz Kamalvand in Gostaresh Foolad football team.
