Tehran Times - Ali Daei announced he is stepping down as Naft Tehran coach after winning Iran’s Hazfi Cup for the third time.
On Thursday, Naft Tehran defeated Tractor Sazi courtesy of a late goal by Sajjad Shahbazzadeh in Khorramshahr.
Daei was appointed as head coach of Naft Tehran football team in July 2016 but was forced to leave the team over the financial problems.
Ali Daei, who won Iran Professional League as head coach of Saipa in 2006-07, had already won Hazfi Cup two times with Persepolis in 2009-10 and 2010-11.
The former captain of the Iran national football team, who has played for clubs such as Bayern Munich and Hertha BSC, is the world's all-time leading goalscorer in men's international matches.
