Tasnim - Saba's 13-year stay in the Iran Professional League came to an end on Thursday after a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Esteghlal Khuzestan sealed its relegation to the Azadegan League.
Meysam Majidi found the back of the net for Saba in the 37th minute from the penalty spot but Aliasghar Ashouri scored a brace for the visitors in the 45th and 88th minutes.
Saba joined Machine Sazi who was relegated from IPL three weeks ago.
Persepolis won the IPL title for the third time.
Pars Jonoubi Jam and Sepidrood Rasht have sealed promotion to Iran Professional League.
