Tasnim - Sepahan of Isfahan football team suffered a 3-0 home defeat to rock-bottom team Machine Sazi in Iran Professional League (IPL) on Thursday.
Hossein Ebrahimi opened the scoring in the 37th minute and Amin Ghaseminejad made it 2-0 in the 49th minute.
Payam Sadeghian poured cold water on Sepahan’s hopes after converting his penalty in the 79th minute.
Elsewhere, IPL titleholder Esteghlal Khuzestan edged past Sanat Naft 1-0, Padidie lost to Foolad 1-0, Saba defeated struggling Siahjamegan 2-1, Gostaresh Foolad defeated Saipa 2-1 and Naft Tehran beat Paykan 2-1.
IPL second-placed Tractor Sazi will host Zob Ahan on Saturday and Tehran derby between Esteghlal and Persepolis will be held on Sunday.
