Tehran Times - Iran football friendly match against Morocco is set to be called off, the Iranian media reported.
The friendly match is scheduled to be held on January 6 at Dubai’s Al Ain Stadium.
According to the local reports, the UAE will only let the game to be held behind the closed doors and it’s while a lot of Iranian fans in the UAE who are interested in watching Team Melli’s game.
However Carlos Queiroz’s men may only hold their 7-day training camp in Dubai without playing a friendly.
Iraq, who is in Group B of the Asia’s 2018 World Cup qualifying, has reportedly shown interest in playing a friendly match with Iran on March 18.
Iran, who is currently top of Group A in the Asia’s 2018 World Cup qualifying with 11 points, will take on Qatar on March 23 before facing China five days later.
A couple of African teams will hold training camps in Dubai in order to prepare for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations which will take place in Gabon from January 14 to February 5.
Morocco has been drawn in the Group C of the tournament alongside defending champion Ivory Coast, DR Congo and Togo.
