Tehran Times - Former Persepolis goalkeeper Sosha Makani is set to join Saipa on loan until the end of the season.
The 30-year-old keeper, who is under contract with Norwegian second division side Mjøndalen, is eager to join an Iranian team to keep his fitness for the start of OBOS-ligaen.
“I have a contract with Mjøndalen but if they agree I could join Saipa on loan until the end of the season. I had my best days with Foolad working under Hossein Faraki and I’d love to reunite with him. We had a meeting last night and we’ll see what happens in the future,” Makani said.
“According to the OBOS-ligaen we have a four-month time until the start of the next season and I need to keep my form while there is no official club game in Norway so moving to Saipa in Iran Professional League is the best option,” he added.
Makani joined Mjøndalen for a one-week trial. After a successful trial Makani signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the club on 30 June 2016.
