Tasnim - Iranian referee Alireza Faghani has been chosen to officiate Brazil, Denmark match in the 2016 Olympic Games on Wednesday.
The international referee, 38, will be joined by compatriots Reza Sokhandan and Mohammadreza Mansouri as his assistants, with Ghanaian Joseph Lamptey the fourth official for the host’s clash in Salvador against Denmark.
Brazil needs to beat group leader Denmark on Wednesday to win to avoid a stunning exit, just two years after their devastating 7-1 World Cup defeat by Germany.
Faghani, whose name has been on the international list since 2008, was appointed as the AFC Asian Cup final where host Australia defeated South Korea 2-1.
