Tasnim - Esteghlal of Tehran football team lost to newly promoted Sanat Naft Abadan in the third week of the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Friday.

The Blues, who had lost to holder Esteghlal Khuzestan in Ahvaz last week, suffered a home 2-1 defeat to Sanat Naft in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.

Ali Ghorbani was on target for Esteghlal in the 66th minute.

Reza Norouzi, who came off the bench, equalized the match in the 86th minute and Hossein Baghlani found the back of the net from the penalty spot in the dying moments of the match.

Esteghlal has just one point from three games.

Elsewhere, Saipa defeated Siah Jamegan 2-0 in Mashhad and Zobahan beat Foolad 2-0 in Ahvaz.
