Perspolis made use of the striker, Sohrab Entezari. They also had other capable goal scorers such as Behnam Abolghasempour and Amir Hossien Aslanian.

The game started with strong offensives by both sides. Abolghasempour and Entezari of Perspolis partnered each other and played a successful and synchronized game and scored 2 goals in the 23rd and 66th minutes to clinch the match for their team. After the second goal Aslanian and Rafaat replaced them.

The host team's numerous offensives constantly harassed Malavan and the desired results were gained by Perspolis. The guests began an intensive effort in the last minutes of the game when the hosts had their share of goals. The final offensives by Malavan were quite dangerous and Ghollami managed to score for his team in the 89th minute.

After the game Mohammad Ahmadzadeh, an ex-player of the team and the present coach of Malavan said, "I was satisfied with the boys performance in the second half. It was a good game altogether. The average age range of our team is very low. All the players are young, but inexperienced. I hope they will present better games in the future. I congratulate Esteghlal and their coaches on their victory. I also wish them success in their other games."

There was a slight clash between the supporters of the teams at the end of the match, which ended quickly. Branco Ivancovic, the Croatian coach of the National Team also observed the game at Azadi stadium.
