Tehrantimes - The Iranian football team will play Macedonia in a friendly in Austria, head of Iran Football Federation Ali Kafashian said.

According to him, the match has been scheduled for June 4.

Previously, Norway had shown interest to play friendly with Iran.

Iran is first in Asia and 45th in the overall FIFA ranking while Macedonia is 136th and Norway is in 54th place.

Iran has almost qualified for the third round of 2018 World Cup following a 6-0 win against Guam in mid-November.
