Mehdi Rahmati

TEHRANTIMES - Esteghlal goalkeeper Mehdi Rahmati has been sidelined for one month after suffering a thigh injury in Tuesday's 2-1 victory over Tractor Sazi in Iran’s Hazfi Cup semi-final.

The goalie underwent an MRI scan Wednesday morning and the club confirmed that he has ""a tear of the rectus femoris muscle in his right thigh"".

Rahmati’s healing process takes about four weeks, according to Esteghlal's physiotherapist Amin Norouzi.

Esteghlal will entertain Siah Jamegan at the weekend in the Iranian Professional League.

Esteghlal No. 2 keeper Vahid Taleblu will be selected for the game.

Rahmati’s injury is a big blow to Esteghlal since the team is a title contender.
