Tehrantimes - Persepolis football team head coach Branko Ivankovic believes his team is the favorite to win the Iran Professional League title this season.

The Reds have grabbed seven points from their last three games to climb up to fourth place but they are still seven points behind the IPL leader.

“We had a poor start to the season but the fans were behind us and we progress day by day. There was a moment in the first weeks of the season which we took just one point out of four games but 300 fans came to our training pitch to show their support. These fans are the most important things for Persepolis,” Branko told IRNA.

“We have not lost in the last ten games while we were the better team in all of this season’s matches. Sometimes refereeing mistakes and sometimes wasting goal scoring chances prevented us from wining the three points but we are on the way of claiming the title. My team is this season’s favorite to win the title,” the Croatian coach added.

Persepolis will take on Padideh in Mashhad on December 26.
