Tehrantimes - Zob Ahan and Tractor Sazi advanced to the Hazfi Cup last four after wins over Persepolis and Saipa, respectively, on Wednesday.
Last season’s champion Zob Ahan beat Persepolis 2-0 in a game which ended goalless in 90 minutes. The match overshadowed by the referee controversial decision in the 21st minute when Persepolis goalkeeper Iman Sadeghi sent off.
Morteza Tabrizi broke the deadlock for Zob Ahan in the 107th minute while Reza Shekari doubled the hosts lead in the 116th minute taking advantage of Persepolis mistake in defense.
Elsewhere, Tractor Sazi edged past Saipa 2-1 to book a place in semi-final. Hamza Younes opened the scoring for Tractor Sazi, but Ali Zeynali leveled the score for Saipa in the 34th minute. Shahin Saghebi made it 2-1 in the 66th minute as the visitors qualified to Hazfi Cup semi-final.
In a quarter-final clash, Naft Tehran defeated Padideh in penalties after a 1-1 draw in 120 minutes.
