Tasnim - Former Croatia coach Igor Stimac has been shortlisted to take charge of Sepahan football team.
Sepahan parted company with Hossein Faraki by mutual consent on Sunday.
Faraki’s assistant Majid Basirat will coach the team until the end of the week, Sepahan General Manager Asghar Bagherian told the Tasnim News Agency.
“We will appoint our new head coach as soon as possible as we have some candidates. Igor Stimac has the CV and could replace Faraki in Sepahan,” Bagherian said.
According to him, former Esteghlal and Sepahan coach Amir Ghalenoei also is among the candidates.
Stimac had been widely expected to be named as Esteghlal coach in the summer but the Iranian popular team appointed Parviz Mazloumi as the head coach.
