Tasnim - Mohammad Khakpour will continue to do his job as head coach of Iran's Olympic football team, according to head of Iran Football Federation Ali Kaffashian.


Khakpour announced his resignation on Thursday soon after inspiring Iran to WAFF U-23 Championship title in Qatar.

After the technical session held on Monday at the Iran Football Federation (IFF) headquarter, the Khakpour’s resignation was not accepted.

“Here are some of the problems we resolve. The coaching staff will continue to recruit for success in the future,” Kafashian said.

Iran will have to participate at the 2016 AFC U-23 Championship which will be held in Doha, Qatar from January 12 to 30.

Khakpour’s men have been drawn in Group A along with Qatar, Syria and China.

The tournament will serve as the 2016 Olympic qualifier.
