Jahanbakhsh misses Iran’s World Cup qualifier against Oman

TEHRANTIMES - AZ midfielder Alireza Jahanbakhsh will miss Iran’s match against Oman in the 2018 World Cup qualifier.


“Alireza is suffering an injury and we cannot let him to accompany Iran against Oman,” Alkmaar coach John van den Brom said.

Jahanbakhsh played 12 minutes against Spain’s Athletic Bilbao in Europa League last week but could not play against FC Twente.

Esteghlal midfielder Khosro Heydari also missed the match due to an injury.

Leader Iran will face Oman on Thursday in Muscat in Group D of the 2018 World Cup qualifier.
