TEHRANTIMES - Ali Karimi’s first vehicle, a Peykan Station, was priced over five billion rials (about $147,000) during an auction in the city of Mashhhad on Saturday night on behalf of charity for the Fayyazbakhsh Disabled Rest Home.

An affluent Mashhadi exchanged the car with two shops located near the holy shrine of Imam Reza (S).

The auction was held at the presence of Ali Karimi, the Asian Maradona, and some artists and celebrities.

An addition 201 billion rials (about 59,000) was collected for charity in the auction.

The car is famous because Karimi has mentioned it several times in his interviews as it is a reminder of the days he was poor. However, Karimi is now one of the richest footballers in Iran, Varzesh3 reported.
