MNA - On the fourth day of the 16th-finals of the 29th season of Iran’s Hazfi Cup, Perspolis and Saipa won the fixtures.
In their first encounter of the 29th season of Iran’s Hazfi Cup, on Saturday, the red giants of Tehran, edge passed Peykan, scoring the only goal of the match from penalty spot.
At 68, Mehdi Taromi converted the penalty to make it Perspolis 1-0 Peykan; a listless but still hopeful start for the reds.
The other event of the day, was more exciting, as Saipa scored 4 goals to win Bazargani of Amol with a decisive start in the Hazfi cup.
The Hazfi Cup is the Iranian football knockout cup competition, ran by the Iranian Football Federation. The first round of the 2015–16 Hazfi Cup kicked off on August 27 with competitions among seeders from Azadegan League, 2nd Division League, and Champions of Provinces. After the fights in the first round 16 clubs got to the second round (16th-finals) to line up against Iran’s Premier League clubs.
