Iran Moves One Place in FIFA Rankings

Tasnim - Iranian national football team moved up one spot to No. 40 in the latest FIFA rankings announced Thursday.


Iran leads Asia, followed by South Korea and Japan in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) .

Argentina remained at the top, followed by Belgium, Germany, Colombia and Brazil.

Algeria leads African nations at No. 19.

Mexico is CONCACAF's best at No. 26, two ahead of the United States.

The next rankings will take account of two rounds in European Championship qualifying matches and World Cup qualifiers in Asia and CONCACAF.
