PTV - Iranian futsal club Tasisat Daryaei has chalked up a hard-fought win over Nagoya Oceans of Japan at the quarterfinal of the 2015 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Futsal Club Championship in Iran’s central city of Isfahan.

Tasisat Daryaei started the game, staged at Isfahan’s Nagsh-e Jahan Stadium on Tuesday evening, in an energetic fashion, and Vahid Shamsaei fired off the first shot of the fixture after just 22 seconds. Nagoya goalkeeper Ruma Shinoda, however, comfortably collected the ball.

The defending champions, Nagoya Oceans, then brought the match under its control and Rafael Sakai gave the Japanese the lead two minutes into the game.

In the seventh minute, Shamsaei burst through the middle to pick up the ball before slipping the ball into the bottom corner of Nagoya Oceans to level the score at 1-1.

Reza Sangsefidi seized an ideal opportunity moments later to add to Tasisat Daryaei’s tally.

Japan’s Sakai almost found the back of the net in the 13th minute, but his shot just went over the bar.

Kaoru Morioka capitalized on a mistake by Iranian player Mostafa Nazari in the 34th minute to score the equalizer from wide on the right.

The game looked set to go into the extra time. However, Shamsaei, with two minutes remaining, fired a shot from outside the area to put the ball into Shinoda’s left and make it three for the Iranian outfit.

Tasisat Daryaei’s Mohammad Reza Zare’i scored the decider with barely a minute remaining. Morioka added Nagoya’s third seconds before the final whistle.


“Today was a very important game for us, a big game. Just like Messi who can change the result for Barcelona, Ronaldo for Madrid or previously Zidane for France, Vahid can do this for us in the big games. He changed the result of this match, and he’s one of the great players,” Iran's coach Amir Shamsaei said after the match.

“Today’s game was very tough, but it was a good game,” Nagoya Oceans' coach Victor Acosta said, adding, “We did our best and their players are very high quality.”

“In my mind we could control the game but they took their chances at a good time in the game. We did our best, we tried everything to win this match and we had a lot of chances to win. But this is the game. This kind of game is good for us too, because we can improve a lot,” the Spaniard added.

Tasisat Daryaei will play in the semifinal against Naft al-Wasat of Iraq at 7:30 p.m. local time (1500 GMT) on Wednesday.

The 2015 AFC Futsal Club Championship began in Isfahan on July 31 and will finish on August 7.
