Tasnim - Iranian national football team's head coach Carlos Queiroz has been shortlisted to take charge of Mexico football team.
The Portuguese coach is among the candidates to replace Miguel Herrera.
The Mexican Football Federation fired Herrera on Tuesday, just two days after he led the team to a CONCACAF Gold Cup title.
The ouster came after a television reporter said the coach punched him at the Philadelphia airport.
Queiroz, Gustavo Matosas, coach of Liga MX club Atlas, Pedro Caixinha, Mexican club Santos Laguna coach , Paulo Bento, Portuguese retired coach, and Ricardo Ferreti, Brazilian football coach are candidates to be named as Mexico coach.
