TEHRANTIMES - Former Iran coach Ali Daei has been shortlisted to take charge of Malavan Bandar Anzali football team.
Daei and Mohammad Ahmadzadeh are among the candidates to be named as Malavan coach.
Daei was appointed as Iran coach in 2008 but was fired after the poor results in the 2010 World Cup Qualifier.
Daei also has had two stints in Persepolis as coach.
Malavan finished in 12th place last season in the Iranian Professional League under leadership of Firouz Karimi.
Daei has played for clubs such as Bayern Munich and Hertha BSC, and is the world's all-time leading goalscorer in men's international matches. From June 2007 until 2013, he was a member of the FIFA Football Committee.
