After a successful season in Portugal, Zareei has joined his new club on a two-year contract.

Regarding his move to Leixões S.C., Zareei said, “This is a step in the right direction for me. I will continue this path
till I develop into Iran’s best goalkeeper.”

It is indeed a great accomplishment for a teenage Iranian goalkeeper to be able to protect the net of a European club,
especially one in the Portuguese second tier.

The Tehran native added, “In the past year, I truly gave it my all in order to develop to my full potential in this short
span of time. I really like this club (Leixões), and the atmosphere is great. I had a great reception here and everyone
made me feel at home.”
