MNA - Iran’s Football Federation announced the punishment for those responsible for Tabriz event.
Following the events at the final day of Iran’s Professional Premier League of football which riled tempers among Tractorsazi’s fans, Iran’s Football Federation conducted thorough investigations over the issue to cool down the anger heated in Tabriz and announced the verdicts issued concerning the event on June 10.
On Friday May 15, the results of the simultaneously held matches of the last round shook the top of the table where Tractorsazi enjoyed sitting for the last 3 rounds of the tournament.
In Tabriz, the topper Tractorsazi and the second Naft of Tehran met each other fighting to win their first ever won title of IPL as for sure the winner of the match could crown the trophy while they drew and in Isfahan, Sepahan who won over Saipa Alborz 2-0, leapfrogged both of them.
All over Iran, the TV audience following the last minutes of the fifth 2014-15 Persian Gulf Pro League, were surprised to see Tractorsazi players and fans celebrate the 3-3 draw at the end of a match in which they held a 3-1 lead till the late minutes but the next day it was revealed that all communications were blocked since the 86th minute misinforming the Reds of Tabriz that Sepahan has concede 2 goals to draw 2-2.
Afterward President Rouhani visited Tabriz and ordered the sport officials to examine the case and announce the results.
On June 10, the Iranian Football Federation issued its announcement as follows.
1-The head of IPL refereeing department is dismissed.
2- The referee of the match is suspended until further notice.
3- The supervisor of the match is suspended until further notice.
4-The officials in charge of running the match are handed in written reprimand recorded in their history file.
5- The announcer of the stadium is suspended until further notice.
6-The provincial officials of Tabriz football association are reprimanded for not fixing the Scoreboard problem, not supervising the announcer of the stadium, and other relevant issues.
7- Also the managing team of Tractorsazi football club are advised to punish intra-club wrong-doers.
Iran’s Sports Minister Goudarzi has handed President Rouhani a copy of the announcement.
Earlier on May 21, upset by criticisms, Asgari the Head of IPL Refereeing Department had resigned.
