Tasnim - French coach Bernard Simondi has been shortlisted to replace Amir Ghalenoei in Tehran's popular football team, Esteghlal, a member of the Iranian team's technical committee announced on Friday.
Hassan Roshan, a member of Esteghlal’s technical committee, said the 62-year-old coach is the most likely candidate to replace Ghalenoei.
Besiktas target Senol Gunes is also among the candidates to take the helm of the Blues.
Esteghlal finished sixth in the Iran Professional League this season.
Back-to-back failures to make the AFC Champions League, Esteghlal is now looking forward to find a new coach.
