TEHRANTIMES - Two Persepolis defender Michael Umana and Mohsen Bengar could miss their side's Champions League Round of 16 first leg with Al Hilal scheduled for Tuesday, the Iranian club confirmed on Sunday.
Umana and Bengar are doubtful for the game against Saudi powerhouse club while Mehrdad Kafshgari has been ruled out for this game.
“Bengar and Umana played with pain in derby against Esteghlal on Friday. More medical exams by the club’s medical staff will determine if they are available for Tuesday match or not,” Branko Ivankovic told reporters.
The Tehran-based club, who qualified as the Group A runners up, will take on Group C winner Al Hilal in the Champions League Round of 16 first leg at Tehran’s Azadi Stadium on Tuesday.
The return leg will be played at the King Fahd Stadium next week.
The Red giants beat arch rival Esteghlal 1-0 in the final round of the Iran Professional League on Friday.
It finished 8th with 36 points from 30 games.
