TEHRANTIMES - Persepolis newly-appointment head coach Branko Ivankovic believes Thursday match against Sepahan is very important for him because it will be a reunion with his assistant Hossein Faraki after 10 years.
“First, I have to say I’m very excited to meet Faraki after 10 years. Then, I should say Sepahan match is the most important game after Tehran derby against Esteghlal. Sepahan has done a great job over the past five or six years and they’re going to continue their good run,” Branko told reporters in the press conference.
Branko also stated that he will give time to his players to show their abilities and will not omit any player until the end of the season.
“We have to get good results in the IPL remaining games then we have to focus on the second round of the AFC Asian Champions League. We have to sign new players for the next season while I will let the current squad to show its abilities. All of the players have the same chance to remain in Persepolis,” the Croatian coach added.
Former Team Melli coach then spoke about his last time in Iran. “I have always said that I have had five wonderful years in Iran. I don’t pay attention to what others say but I have had great moments here,” Branko said.
