Iran Moves Two Places Up in FIFA Rankings

Tasnim - Iranian national football team has moved up two places to 40th in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday.


Iran defeated Chile 2-0 and lost to Sweden 3-1 in two friendlies held in late March.

Iran is the best Asian team in the world, followed by Japan, South Korea, Australia and the UAE.

At the top of the FIFA rankings, World Cup winner Germany remains first and Argentina second, but Belgium moved above Colombia into third.

The next FIFA World Ranking will be published on 7 May 2015.
