TEHRANTIMES - International iconic midfielder Ashkan Dejagah lost his cool after an official criticized the way Team Iran plays.
Recently, Alireza Asadi Secretary General of Iran Football Federation (IFF) has said Team Iran is suffering ‘lack of standard’.
The Portuguese coach had announced that he would leave his job after Sweden friendly because of difference of opinion inside the federation. According to him, there are almost two federations, with two different opinions.
Ashkan Dejagah has supported his coach in an interview with an Iranian sports newspaper.
“I really wonder what Asadi thinks about our style and I am sad about his recent interview,” Dejagah told Khabar Varzeshi.
“He has said Carlos Queiroz has not done well however everyone says Iran played very good in the 2014 World Cup. It’s not really fair to say that our team is suffering lack of standard,” Al-Arabi midfielder added.
“Carlos Queiroz is the best coach I have ever had. All Iranian people love Queiroz and I think the federation must respect their opinions,” Dejagah said.
