Tasnim - Iran U-23 football team edged past Kuwait 1-0 in a friendly held in Kuwait city Thursday night.
Behnam Barzai scored the only goal of the match from the penalty spot in the 28th minute.
It was Iran's last warm up match before the AFC U-23 Championship 2016.
"In my opinion, we have the best U-23 football players in our team. I hope we make the Iranian people happy in the AFC U-23 Championship and qualify for the Olympics," Iran Olympic coach Mohammad Khakpour said.
Iran is preparing itself to participate in the event, where the team has been drawn in Group C along with Saudi Arabia, Nepal, Palestine, and Afghanistan.
The AFC U-23 Championship 2016 will serve as the Olympic Games qualifiers in every alternate edition.
The top three teams from the 2016 edition will represent Asia at the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil. Iran has not participated in the Olympics since 1976 Montreal.
