Tasnim - The Iranian football team defeated Premier Soccer League Platinum Stars 6-0 in a practice match on Monday.

In the match held in Johannesburg’s training camp, Mohammad Nouri (three times), Sajjad Shahbazzadeh, Masoud Hassanzadeh and Habib Gordani scored for the Iranian outfit.

Iran had already defeated Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates reserves in its training camp.

The team is preparing itself for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup, which will be held in Australia from January 9 to 31.

Carlos Queiroz’s team has been pitted against the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar and Bahrain in Group C of the tournament.

Team Melli will return to Iran on Tuesday night after its 10-day training camp in South Africa.

The Asian heavyweight will also play Palestine on December 28 in Tehran a day before travel to Sydney.
