PTV - Iran has climbed five positions in the latest ranking of the national soccer teams, ranking 51st in the world.

According to the most recent ranking published by the international governing body of soccer, FIFA, Iran’s tally of points has hit 580, placing it in the 51st position.

The recent victory over South Korea in a friendly in Tehran improved the team’s position from 56th in the November ranking.

Iran's national team is best in Asia and is followed by Japan, which has gained 563 points and stands at the 54th position in the FIFA ranking.

The top five teams of the ranking include Germany, Argentina, Colombia, Belgium and Netherlands in descending order.
