Tehrantimes - Prominent Iranian vocalist Mohammadreza Shajarian offered congratulations to the Iranian national football team for their valiant effort against Argentina in a World Cup match in Belo Horizonte, Brazil on Saturday.

“Congratulations to the members of Iran’s team, who gained a world honor and pleased the hearts of Iranians, who love football,” he wrote on his Facebook page on Sunday.

He expressed his thanks to Coach Carlos Queiroz and said, “Surely, our guys can defeat the team of Bosnia and Herzegovina. I’m eagerly awaiting the match.”

Iran gave a tremendous performance against the highly favored Argentine team in the Group F match. However, Lionel Messi scored a late goal in the first minute of added time to give Argentina a 1-0 victory.
