PLDC - Doha, In a news conference held in Qatar, the list of the eleven teams participating in the competitions of the West Asian Games was announced with no mention of Iran and the Emirates.

The eighth round of the West Asian competitions will be held from Sept. 25 to January 7 in Qatar. The eleven teams which are to participate in these competitions are: Qatar, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, and Palestine.

In a news conference, the Secretary General of the West Asian Football Federation said, “The Iranian national team withdrew from the competition because of the objection of Queiroz, the head coach of the team. The reason offered by Queiroz was that several of his players were present in European leagues. The Emirates already withdrew from these competitions.”
