PLDC- Tehran, There were some surprising results and impressive displays in the fifth round of the 2013-2014 Hazfi Cup, as some Azadegan League teams defeated their tier superior IPL teams.

Padideh Mashhad visited Persepolis in Tehran's Azadi Stadium and gave The Reds a run for their money. Persepolis took the lead in the 48th minute with Abbaszadeh's goal. In the 86th minute, Tahmasebi tied the match for Padideh and sent the match into added extra time. Then Noormohammadi (94'), Shakeri (110'), Gharibi (114') and Norouzi (117') sealed the victory for Persepolis in added extra time and won the match 5-1 for The Red Army.

Esteghlal Khuzestan visited Alvand Hamedan in Qods Stadium. Traore scored from the penalty spot in the 29th minute to give Alvand the lead, and Esteghlal Khuzestan player, Akbari, scored in the 58th minute to tie the match. Alvand Hamedan, the Azadegan League team, then defeated their tier superiors, Esteghlal Khuzestan of the Iran Pro League, in penalty shootouts.

Foolad Novin Ahvaz was awarded a 3-0 victory over Fajr Sepasi as match was called a walkover.

Yet another Azadegan League team, Naft Masjed Soleyman, defeated Iran Pro League team, Saipa, in penalty shoot-outs, after the match ended 0-0, both in regulation time and added extra time.

Rah Ahan Sorinet defeated Talar Vahdat Hamedan 7-2 in Tehran's Takhti Stadium. Rah Ahan's goalscorers were: Rezaian (23', 33'), Noormohammadi (31'), Abdi (37', 90+5'), R. Khaleghifar (55' P) and Alipour (58'). Ahmadi (71') and Shirazdfar (89' P) scored the goals for Talar Vahdat.
